In 1924, de Finetti acquired land from the Melzi d’Eril family adjacent to the historic Giardino d’Arcadia. The site fell within the parameters of the 1912 Pavia-Masera master plan, which proposed a new street and subdivision of the area. De Finetti’s design substantially reduced the originally planned density, thereby preserving the ancient garden. The project, which also included a condominium on nearby via San Calimero, was presented in 1924 and the Casa della Meridiana was completed the following year.
