See it working: the Pontine new towns
One subject, every format. The five founded cities of the Pontine plain — Latina, Sabaudia, Pontinia, Aprilia and Pomezia — are documented here as a connected hub: a signed magazine article for each city, a city entry with an image gallery, an archive entry for every landmark, and a curated walking itinerary with an interactive map. Everything links to everything. This is the system your work becomes part of. We also keep a page on the seats we document: the buildings these schools work in, each with its own record in the archive.
The article
Sabaudia, 1934: the Rationalist New Town on the Coastal Lake — a signed piece by Stefano Vigolo that tells the story and hands the reader on to the places and the walk.
The place entries
The city entry with its image gallery, plus a full archive entry for each landmark — the Palazzo Comunale, the church with the Ferrazzi mosaic — with history, sources and GPS.
The itinerary
A curated walk connecting the entries on an interactive map, with a play-through tour and GPX/KML downloads for any navigator.
The same connected set exists for Latina, Pontinia, Aprilia and Pomezia: five cities, five articles, five itineraries and a network of linked place entries.
How collaboration works here
- You never pay to publish. Collaborators are credited and, where sales or assignments are involved, paid — never the other way round. (Commercial guest content from clients is a separate, always-labelled programme; see Ownership & Funding.)
- Real credit, always. Photographs carry the photographer’s name on every image; articles carry the author’s byline and date.
- Fixed, published compensation. Where money is involved, the terms are fixed and stated in advance. There is no bidding and no negotiating downward.
- One standard for everyone. The Editorial Guidelines and the Corrections Policy apply to every published contribution, whoever wrote or photographed it.
How paid assignments are distributed
When a paid writing or photography assignment comes in, it is offered by email to all eligible collaborators on that track. The first qualified collaborator to accept takes it; the editors may assign directly where a subject calls for specific expertise — someone who has already covered Hungarian Art Nouveau gets the Hungarian Art Nouveau assignment. Compensation is fixed in advance: accepting faster never means accepting less.
