Arte Laguna Prize and JONATHAN FERRARA GALLERY are pleased to present KYORAI (去来): Coming And Going, a solo exhibition by the Japanese artist Akihiko Sugiura.
The exhibition was born from the collaboration between the Prize and the American gallery and will open on Saturday June 1st from 6 to 9 p.m.
The artist was awarded by the gallery during the 13th Arte Laguna Prize for his dream-like figurative paintings that challenge traditional ideas of portraiture.
AKIHIKO SUGIURA 1Biography
Akihiko Sugiura (Born 1979, Hyogo, Japan) lives and works in Tokyo. He graduated from the Faculty of Business Administration but after learning art by himself for two years, he decided to give up the business world and devote himself to art in 2015.
Dr. Lorenzo Antonio Renzulli was a journalist and art critic, and a long-time partner of this archive, writing on art, design and culture. Cultural Heritage Online republishes his work in his memory.
