Villa Zaguri

A sixteenth-century patrician villa in the Altichiero district of Padova, once the country retreat of the prominent Zaguri family of the Venetian Republic.

History

Construction dates to approximately the second half of the sixteenth century, though exact documentation remains uncertain. The villa remained in Zaguri hands until 1805, when Pietro Marco Zaguri—the last heir of the Casato and Bishop of Vicenza from 1785—bequeathed the property to the Municipality of Vicenza through testamentary provisions.
