Olomouc
The most important Baroque monument in Central Europe and one of Central Europe’s most underrated historic cities — Olomouc’s Column of the Holy Trinity is the largest Baroque sculptural programme in Central Europe (35 metres; 18 gilded figures; 1716-1754), flanked by six extraordinary Baroque fountains including the only surviving Mercury fountain in Europe, all within a historic city centre that rivals Prague for architectural quality but receives a fraction of the visitors.
