History

The Guglielmi family, like many Roman bourgeois and noble families, established a country seat here during the 19th century, a period of renewed interest in the land and in villeggiatura — seasonal retreat from the city. The estate would have included a main residence, farm buildings, and gardens typical of the period. The 20th century brought significant change to the area, with the construction of Fiumicino airport transforming the landscape irreversibly from the 1960s onwards.

Getting there
Villa Guglielmi is located in the Fiumicino municipality, accessible via the Via Aurelia (SS1) or the Roma–Fiumicino motorway. From Rome, take the train to Fiumicino Aeroporto or use the FL1 regional rail line. By car from Rome, the A91 motorway leads directly to Fiumicino. The area is approximately 25–30 km south-west of central Rome.
