Ten heritage cities in one September loop across Germany, west to east: the Gothic cathedral of Cologne, Charlemagne’s Aachen, Roman Trier and Romanesque Speyer in the Rhineland; the Würzburg Residence, Bamberg, the Wartburg and classical Weimar through Franconia and Thuringia; then Bauhaus Dessau and the Museum Island of Berlin.
