Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker — Pasaana Desert Filmed at Wadi Rum (2019)

In Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019, dir. J.J. Abrams), the desert landscape of Wadi Rum in southern Jordan was used to portray the planet Pasaana, where the Festival of the Ancestors takes place and where Rey, Finn, Poe, and their companions land in pursuit of Sith clues. The vast ochre sand plains and dramatic sandstone massifs of Wadi Rum provided the alien yet ancient desert atmosphere required for Pasaana.
