When Averoldi died in 1984, the house passed into new custodianship. Brescian antiquarian Pietro Malossi, who had developed a close connection to Ome through frequent visits, bequeathed his personal collections to a foundation established in his name. The house subsequently became a museum, transforming a private residence into a repository of both domestic life and collected objects.
