PArCo – PAFF! Palazzo Arti Fumetto Friuli
A restored Venetian villa and contemporary art complex dedicated to comics as a multidisciplinary medium, housing the Armando Pizzinato Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art.

PArCo combines a three-storey villa with modern exhibition wings across 1,800 square metres of gallery and cultural space within Parco Galvani, a significant public park near Pordenone’s historic centre. The facility hosts rotating exhibitions of contemporary art and comics alongside an auditorium, congress centre, and outdoor terrace sculpture garden.
History
The gallery is dedicated to Armando Pizzinato (1910–2004), one of Italy’s most important postwar artists. From 2018, the venue became home to PAFF! Palazzo Arti Fumetto Friuli, a multidisciplinary centre using comic arts as a cultural lens for innovative exhibition programming.
What you see
The site comprises two connected structures: the original Venetian villa restored across three floors, and a modern extension housing the main entrance, four large exhibition halls capable of displaying monumental works, and museum facilities. The new extension added essential display capacity for contemporary and large-scale pieces.
An agora terrace extends the interior exhibition space outdoors, designed for major sculptures and public events. This space overlooks a spring-fed lake edged with a rose garden that flows into the gallery entrance and a laboratory workshop area.

The gallery employs comics as a multidisciplinary tool to reconceive the cultural space in innovative ways. Its architectural and programmatic flexibility allows for articulated, interdisciplinary exhibitions that engage contemporary and historical artistic practice through a distinctly Friuli-based cultural perspective.
