Palazzo Sarcinelli

A Renaissance palace in Conegliano’s historic center, now home to the city’s art gallery and a venue for cultural events.

At a glance

Palazzo Sarcinelli stands on Via XX Settembre in central Conegliano. Built in 1518, it exemplifies Renaissance domestic architecture and remains among the most distinguished palaces in the historic core.

History

The palace was commissioned in 1518 by Antonio Sarcinelli, head of the Ceneda branch of the prominent Sarcinelli family. The other branch, based in Serravalle, also owned a notable Renaissance residence. The Ceneda palazzo followed the design principles of its Serravalle counterpart, establishing itself as one of the finest dwellings in the entire historic center.
