History

Like the other communities of the Valpelline, Oyace developed as a mountain farming and pastoral settlement within the historic territory of the Aosta Valley. The valley has long lain on routes connecting the Italian side of the Alps with passes leading toward Switzerland, shaping the life of its small villages over the centuries.
