Ten heritage cities in one September loop: modernista Barcelona, Roman Tarragona and the Mudéjar Aljafería of Zaragoza in the north-east; Madrid with the Castilian trio of Segovia, Ávila and Toledo at the centre; then the Andalusian south, from the Mezquita of Córdoba to the Alcázar of Seville and the Alhambra of Granada. It is built around Spain’s autumn Jornadas Europeas de Patrimonio, whose dates each autonomous community fixes for itself.
