History
Designer and builder Manuel Víctor Domenech constructed this residence for the Armstrong-Poventud family during Ponce’s prosperous turn-of-the-twentieth-century expansion. The house’s success sparked a wave of architecturally ambitious domestic construction throughout the city. In 1991, the Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña transformed the residence into a museum, securing its preservation and public access.
