In 1929, in the heart of Novara, entrepreneurial partners Paolo Comoli and Giuseppe Ferrari opened a specialized workshop supplying electrotechnical equipment, dynamos, and wiring to the expanding textile mills and agricultural enterprises of the Piedmont plains. The Novara Workshop: Powering the Interwar Rice Valley and Mills (1929)
At the close of the 1920s, the provinces of Novara and Vercelli were undergoing rapid industrial electrification, driven by hydroelectric generation from the alpine Sesia and Toce basins. Local silk spinning mills, mechanical looms, and rice processing plants needed reliable access to precision copper wiring, switchgear, electric motors, and porcelain insulators. On April 29, 1929, Paolo Comoli and Giuseppe Ferrari joined forces to found their supply house on Via Canobio in Novara.
With technical competence and direct warehouse availability, Comoli Ferrari became the indispensable partner for electrical contractors, municipal utilities, and industrial plants across eastern Piedmont and Lombardy.
