In October 1927, the Fábrica Militar de Aviones (now Fábrica Argentina de Aviones, FAdeA) was inaugurated in Córdoba, Argentina. As the first aircraft manufacturing facility in Latin America, it spearheaded the nation’s ambition to develop an independent aerospace industry capable of designing and producing military and civilian aircraft.

Initiated by the Argentine government under the vision of Minister of War Agustín Pedro Justo, the factory began by producing European models under license before quickly transitioning to indigenous designs.
