Behind an iron gate on a quiet street in the Olme district of Mogliano Veneto stand two structures from two different revivalist tastes: a battlemented brick tower in a romantic medieval style, and an ochre-red villa with the round-arched windows of the Liberty years.
At a glance
The property sits on Via Piave in Olme, a locality of Mogliano Veneto in the province of Treviso, between Venice and Treviso. Behind a low stone wall and a wrought-iron gate topped with spear-point finials stands a square brick tower with a crenellated, castle-like top, small pointed-arch windows and a round decorative medallion set into the brickwork — a piece of 19th- or early 20th-century neo-Gothic revival architecture. A few steps further into the grounds, past cedars and hedges, an ochre-red villa with white stone door and window surrounds, round-arched openings and a small balustraded balcony looks out over a lawn, in the eclectic Liberty style common to Veneto villas of the early 1900s.
