History
The original church on this site was founded in 1092. The present building was completed and consecrated by the Bishop of Ely in 1875, reflecting the Victorian era’s architectural ambitions. When the neighbouring St Peter’s Church became redundant, St Giles absorbed its name, becoming St Giles’ Church with St Peter. The Grade II-listed war memorial in the churchyard, designed by Bodley and Hare, was unveiled in 1920.
