Sala Mostre — Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi, Menaggio

A municipal exhibition room on Menaggio’s lakefront square, given over through the year to visiting painters and photographers rather than to a permanent collection.

At a glance

The Sala Mostre is a small exhibition space made available by the comune of Menaggio in Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi, the town’s main lakefront square on Lake Como. It has no permanent collection: the room is booked out through the year to a rotating programme of solo and group shows, mostly painting and photography by regional artists, run for a week or two at a time.

Key facts

  • What — a municipal exhibition room, not a museum with a permanent collection
  • Where — Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi 3, Menaggio (CO), on Lake Como’s western shore
  • Programme — short-run temporary exhibitions, mostly painting and photography, booked through the comune

What’s on

The room turns over frequently. Recent and forthcoming shows have included a solo exhibition by the painter Kristina Korò, Circondati dalle Onde, in July 2026, and a show by Bruno Porro; the comune’s own listings and the local cultural-agenda site myLakeComo carry the current schedule, since exhibitions here rarely run for more than a couple of weeks at a time.

Practical information

There are no fixed public opening hours independent of whatever exhibition is currently on: hours generally follow the run of the show. For the current programme and opening times, the comune di Menaggio’s own listings and local event pages are the most reliable source, since the room’s use changes from one booking to the next.

Getting there

Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi is Menaggio’s central lakefront square, on the ferry and hydrofoil routes that link the town to Como, Bellagio and Varenna, and a short walk from the SS340 regional road along the western shore of the lake.
