History
The Washpool and Gibraltar Range area, encompassing this national park, was inscribed as a World Heritage Site in 1986 under the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia designation. The site was subsequently added to the Australian National Heritage List in 2007, recognizing its ecological and geological importance.
