History
The church was declared a National Monument of Chile on 26 July 1971. In 2000, it gained international recognition when the 16 Churches of Chiloé were inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on 30 November. The parish leads one of 24 parishes forming the Diocese of Ancud.
The village of Quinchao has long been a religious center, drawing pilgrims through centuries of devotion to the church’s patron saint, Our Lady of Grace.
