Airship Mooring Mast, Vadsø (Norge 1926 · Italia 1928)
The red steel mast on Vadsøya island where Nobile's airships moored on their way to the North Pole: the Norge in May 1926, the Italia in May 1928. It still stands, with a plaque to the Italia's call.
Airship Mooring Mast, Ny-Ålesund (Kings Bay), Svalbard
The steel mast at 79° North from which the Norge left on 11 May 1926 for the first verified journey to the North Pole, and where the Italia based its 1928 expedition. It still stands at the edge of the research settlement.
