Ta Prohm, the Angkor temple left in the embrace of strangler-fig and silk-cotton roots, became the gateway to a hidden tomb in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001), where Angelina Jolie’s adventurer descends into a lost chamber beneath the ruins. The production filmed among the real collapsing galleries, and the great tree gripping the stone has been the ‘Tomb Raider tree’ to visitors ever since.
