The State Theatre of Košice and its Underground Spaces

MiC Košice — Potulky mestom has run themed guided walks through the city since 2004, opening monuments that are normally closed and telling the stories behind them. Their September programme takes visitors below the city’s grandest stage.

Over four evenings the State Theatre of Košice — Adolf Lang’s Neo-Baroque house of 1899, on the main square — is explored beyond the auditorium: the guided walk goes backstage and into the underground spaces beneath the theatre, the parts of the building the audience never sees.
