Rian Johnson returned to Skellig Michael for Star Wars: The Last Jedi in 2017. The island continued to serve as Ahch-To, Luke Skywalkers hermit exile. The corbelled stone huts and terraced paths feature prominently. The two Star Wars productions transformed Skellig Michael into one of Irelands most sought-after visitor sites, with landing permits now in extremely high demand.
