Steven Spielberg shot Schindler’s List (1993) on location in Kraków, in the old Jewish quarter of Kazimierz and the streets where the events had taken place. The film’s black-and-white realism draws directly on the surviving fabric of the city, a short walk from Oskar Schindler’s real enamelware factory.
