Rogue One: A Star Wars Story — Jedha Desert Filmed at Wadi Rum (2016)
01 January 2016 — 31 December 2016

Gareth Edwards), the vast desert landscape of Wadi Rum in southern Jordan was used to portray the desert environments of the planet Jedha, the ancient holy city where kyber crystals were mined and where the Rebel Alliance contact Saw Gerrera operated his partisan network. The towering sandstone massifs and ochre sand plains of Wadi Rum doubled for the desolate surface of Jedha.
