Vittorio Accornero de Testa died in Milan in March 1982. He had moved to the city in 1934 and worked there for half a century: sets and costumes for operetta, ballet and La Scala through the Thirties, Forties and Fifties, then, from 1960 to 1981, some eighty silk scarves for Gucci — among them the Flora, drawn for Grace Kelly, which the house still reprints.

The day is not established. The month and the year are the same in every source we checked; the day (2 March) appears only in the encyclopaedia entry. Until it is confirmed, this anniversary is carried at the first of the month.
