Death Anniversary: Francesco Maria Veracini — October 31, 1768
Ritratto d'autore · Cultural Heritage Online
He died in Florence on 31 October 1768 and was buried in the church of San Pancrazio. Having directed seasons at London’s King’s Theatre in rivalry with Handel, his published Sonate accademiche, op. 2, issued in London and Florence in 1744, remain among the most technically audacious and inventive masterpieces of late baroque violin literature.
