Anniversary: C.S. Lewis Commemorated in Poets’ Corner — November 22

C.S. Lewis died on 22 November 1963. Fifty years later, on the same date in 2013, a memorial stone to him was unveiled in Poets’ Corner at Westminster Abbey — the writers’ and poets’ corner of England’s coronation church, where Chaucer, Dickens and Hardy already lay or were remembered. The Narnia books had made him famous; the Abbey took half a century to decide he belonged among the others.
