Alvin M. Strauss Dies (1958)

In 1958 Alvin M. Strauss died, closing a career of four decades that had reshaped the civic skyline of Fort Wayne and much of northern Indiana. His Art Deco showroom for the Auburn Automobile Company survives as the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum, designated a National Historic Landmark in 2005, where the streamlined interior he designed still frames the Cords and Duesenbergs it was built to sell.
