Anastasia von Hertzfeld, who worked as Assia Noris, was born in Saint Petersburg on 26 February 1912. She was the face of the Italian light comedy of the late 1930s: in 1939 alone she played the shop girl Lauretta in Mario Camerini’s Grandi magazzini, loved by a delivery driver played by Vittorio De Sica, and the lead in the same director’s Batticuore.
