Birth Anniversary: Luca Alinari — October 27, 1943

Luca Alinari was born in Florence on 27 October 1943. He read literature and wrote criticism before he painted, and had his first solo show in his own city at the end of the Sixties. What followed was a long argument with technique: fluorescent colour, decalcomania, collage, photographs transposed onto canvas, and a private bestiary that critics filed under imaginary surrealism.
