Birth Anniversary: Bram Stoker — November 8, 1847

Bram Stoker, the author of Dracula, was born near Dublin on 8 November 1847. He entered Trinity College Dublin in 1864, graduated in 1870, and was the only student ever to serve as both auditor of the College Historical Society and president of the Philosophical Society — proof, long before the novel, of a restless mind. The library he studied in, the Long Room, is still one of the great sights of Dublin.
