London’s Ours: the GLC’s radical 1980s, at the Twentieth Century Society
Between 1981 and 1986 the Greater London Council ran what the Twentieth Century Society describes as a radical experiment in how to run the city, and it left a visual record: posters, campaign graphics, print. More than 250 images of it are gathered in London’s Ours, the new book by Hazel Atashroo.
The author presents it at the Society’s Gallery in Clerkenwell on 2 September 2026, in conversation with the curator Rosamund Lily West. A glass of wine is included. Anyone who cannot get to Cowcross Street can attend the same event on Zoom.
