Art nouveau – Art déco. Marseille au cœur des styles
Nearly 300 works trace the passage from the naturalistic curve of Art Nouveau to the geometry of Art Déco, from 1889 to 1937, with Marseille read as a Mediterranean crossroads for both styles. Loans come from the Manufactures nationales Sèvres, the Mobilier national, the Musée d’Orsay, Chanel and the Fondation Azzedine Alaïa, alongside pieces from the city’s own collections shown for the first time.
The exhibition runs at Château Borély – Musée des Arts décoratifs, de la Faïence et de la Mode, 132 avenue Clot Bey, Marseille, from 8 May 2026 to 25 April 2027. Full price €6, reduced €3, free on the first Sunday of each month.
