Anniversary: The Opening of the INPS Building in Padua — October 24, 1937
On 24 October 1937 the provincial headquarters of the Istituto Nazionale Fascista della Previdenza Sociale was inaugurated at Padua, designed by the engineer Gino Peressutti with sculpture by Paolo Boldrin: travertine fronts on the new piazza Spalato, today piazza Insurrezione, laid out over the medieval quarter of Santa Lucia demolished in the clearances. The minister of corporations, Lantini, attended the ceremony; the Giornale Luce B1193 carried the images into cinemas across Italy on 3 November. The building remained the INPS office for eighty years, until the move of 2018.
