What you see
The hall employs Mackintosh’s signature approach to flexible, light-filled spaces. The main floor contains a large hall with a bay area separated by a sliding folding partition featuring high-level glazed panels with Mackintosh’s distinctive stained glass inserts. A small kitchen and committee room flank the entrance from Shakespeare Street.
Upstairs, two rooms divided by another sliding folding partition can open into a single rectangular space. Exposed roof trusses and roof lights flood both upper rooms with natural light, while the gable end creates a striking geometric form on the front elevation.
