Joseph Younger Dies (1932)

On 16 May 1932 Joseph Younger died at the age of thirty-eight, barely a year after completing the Kennedy–Warren Apartment Building in Washington, D.C. His early death cut short one of the most promising careers in American interwar residential architecture. The Kennedy–Warren — later a District of Columbia Historic Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places — remains his enduring monument and one of Washington’s defining works of Art Deco.
