The final, wordless scene of Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) — Rey climbing to find the exiled Luke Skywalker — was filmed on Skellig Michael, the pyramid of rock off the coast of Kerry. The sixth-century monastery clinging to its summit, with its beehive stone cells and dizzying steps, became the most remote temple in the galaxy.
