Inaugurated in 2008, the Salone dell’Arte e del Restauro di Firenze (Florence Art and Restoration Fair) has consolidated its position as the primary trade event in conservation, restoration and enhancement of the world’s artistic cultural heritage at both national and international levels. Over 17 years of activity, the fair has become a key reference point for professionals working in a constantly evolving sector and represents one of Italy’s strategic productive assets.
Scope and Scale
The fair encompasses research, training, professional practice, innovation, and techniques and technologies serving conservation, restoration and cultural enhancement, with particular attention to cultural and environmental tourism dynamics. Since its inception, the Salone has attracted over 750 exhibitors, including 83 from countries worldwide. During its three-day events, the fair has organized more than 1,150 conferences, roundtables, seminars and meetings, with participation from 2,770 speakers and an average of 65 business-to-business meetings among sector professionals.
European Network Leadership
The Florence fair serves as both chair and permanent coordinator of Herifairs, the European Heritage Fairs Network. This represents the first and only operational platform for exchange and development of synergies among Europe’s most prestigious cultural heritage conservation and restoration fairs, with open cooperation with other international fairs and events globally.
Digital Innovation
From 2018, the fair has collaborated with the University of Florence to organize the International Conference Florence Heri-Tech, addressing digital environments and new technologies. This international conference publishes and disseminates proceedings on research related to technologies applied to restoration and both tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
