Overview
The restaurant stands on the Strada Provinciale della Giannella, the sandbar that joins Monte Argentario to the mainland and separates the Orbetello lagoon from the open sea, in the Province of Grosseto.
The kitchen works with the day’s fresh fish, crossed with the cooking of the Maremma; dinner can be laid on the beach itself.
History
The restaurant took part in the second series of 4 Ristoranti, broadcast in 2015-16, in the first episode: the contest for the best restaurant with a view over the Argentario, against Dal Geco, Le Plaisir du Vin and Gourmet con Gusto. The episode was won by Gourmet con Gusto.
The programme 4 Ristoranti, led by the chef Alessandro Borghese, sets four restaurants of the same area against one another; each host eats at the others and marks them.
What you see
The Giannella is a narrow strip of sand and pine wood with the lagoon on one side and the Tyrrhenian on the other — a landscape of salt water, dunes and wading birds.
