Overview

The archive entry is explicit about where it is: il Ristorante da Gianfranco si trova ad Acquapendente in provincia di Viterbo — at Acquapendente, in the Alta Tuscia of northern Lazio.

The kitchen offers local specialities made in the house, among them the pasta and its dressings; salt cod and meat dishes are singled out, with produce grown by the proprietors themselves.

History

The trattoria took part in the second series of 4 Ristoranti, broadcast in 2015-16, in the ninth episode: the contest for the best border trattoria, against Alla Capannaccia, Hosteria di Pantalla and Duca di Orvieto. The episode was won by Alla Capannaccia.

The programme 4 Ristoranti, led by the chef Alessandro Borghese, sets four restaurants of the same area against one another; each host eats at the others and marks them.

What you see
