History

The valley’s development followed the course of the Piave river, whose sources originate within the municipal area at 1,800 metres above sea level at the foot of Mount Peralba. The valley’s east-west orientation provides excellent sunshine year-round, earning it the local name “La valle del sole” — the Valley of the Sun.
