Overview

Residenza Palazzo Negri occupies five studio flats on the second floor of a Renaissance palace in the old centre of Verona, beside the Roman Porta Borsari, in one of the most attractive pedestrian quarters of the city.

History

The archive entry records no building date and no architect, and none have been added here. Porta Borsari, at whose side the palace stands, is the Roman gate of the Via Postumia, and the street that runs from it is one of the oldest lines of the city.

What you see

The Arena and Piazza Erbe are both less than a hundred metres away; Juliet’s balcony is about five hundred metres, a five-minute walk. The railway station is 1.7 km away, about twenty minutes on foot, and Verona-Villafranca airport 12 km.

Practical information

  • Address: Vicolo San Matteo 2, 37121 Verona, Veneto.
  • Paying car parks lie within 600-700 metres; the quarter itself is pedestrian.
