Palacio Cabanellas
A Modernisme palace in downtown Rosario, designed by Mallorcan architect Francisco Roca and completed in 1916, represents one of Argentina’s rare examples of Catalan-style Art Nouveau.

History
Francisco Roca, a Mallorcan architect who studied in Barcelona under the influence of Antoni Gaudí, designed the palace around 1914. Luis B. Laporte supervised its construction in 1916. The building remained largely unchanged until the mid-2000s, when official restoration efforts addressed structural fissures and replaced deteriorated exterior details. In 2006, the palace served as a filming location for ¿De quién es el portaligas?, a film directed by Rosario-born composer Fito Páez and released in 2007.
