Nylands Nation

History
Nylands Nation was established in 1643 as part of the Royal Academy of Turku, Finland’s oldest university. When the Academy relocated to Helsinki in 1828 and was renamed the University of Helsinki, Nylands Nation moved with it, preserving its traditions and institutional identity across nearly four centuries.
In 1904, the organization acquired its current headquarters, a purpose-built structure designed by Karl HÃ¥rd af Segerstad at Kasarmikatu 40.
