History
The building began as the Niemerzyn tram depot, serving Szczecin’s public transport system before falling into disuse. Renovation costs initially appeared prohibitive, but the site’s potential sparked local enthusiasm. The city transferred the property to municipal ownership, enabling the transport society to realize their vision of a public museum.
A major acquisition in the museum’s early years came in 2006, when the collection incorporated 32 vintage cars and 56 motorcycles from Warsaw collector Leszek Liszewski—a transaction valued at 1.2 million Polish złotys that dramatically strengthened the institution’s holdings.
