Overview
Le Plaisir du Vin is on the Lungomare Strozzi at Porto Ercole, on the eastern side of the Monte Argentario promontory, in the Province of Grosseto.
History
The restaurant took part in the second series of 4 Ristoranti, broadcast in 2015-16, in the first episode: the contest for the best restaurant with a view over the Argentario, against Dal Geco, Tuscan Bay and Gourmet con Gusto. The episode was won by Gourmet con Gusto.
The programme 4 Ristoranti, led by the chef Alessandro Borghese, sets four restaurants of the same area against one another; each host eats at the others and marks them.
What you see
Porto Ercole keeps its Spanish fortresses on the heights above the harbour, built when the Argentario was the Stato dei Presidi; the seafront runs below them.
