History
Kryachkov initially conceived the house in Neo-Russian style but abandoned it for Art Nouveau’s rationalist principles. The finished design rejected ornament in favour of geometric clarity and restraint. The mansion remained a family residence until 1959, when it passed to the Tomsk Polytechnic Institute. It later became home to the Museum of Wooden Architecture, a role it retains today.
